Laundry Worker/ Relief Driver (Nelson)

• Several Full Time roles available
• Monday to Friday regular hours with occasional weekend overtime

As a Laundry Worker/ Relief Driver you are a key member of our team and will be responsible for processing and cleaning linen to a high standard for our customers in the essential services of healthcare and aged care together with the hospitality and accommodation sectors. 

This position involves various duties in our production team including sorting, ironing, folding, packing, loading / unloading of washers and dryers. You will also be a relief driver for our Accommodation deliveries, covering this delivery run when our regular driver if away on leave or sick. You will be responsible for pack the orders into the Van and delivering around the wider Nelson area as well as collecting any bags of soiled linen for returning to the plant.

This role is fast paced! You’ll need good upper body strength, good hand eye coordination and the ability to stand for long periods of time.

Duties 

• Sorting through soiled and dirty linen from hospitals, restaurants, aged care facilities 
• Processing of linen 
• Fast paced production work 
• Machine Operating 
• Repetitive tasks 
• Labour intensive work (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods) 
• Following safe work procedures 

Secondary duties

• Packing the Taylors Van with the bagged linen for the Accommodation customers,
• Driving around the wider Nelson area to Accommodation customers,
• Picking up bagged soiled linen for return to the plant.

Skills/ experience 

• Can do attitude 
• Willingness to be part of our safety culture 
• Good Fitness Level with the ability to lift 5kg – 15kg repetitively 
• Flexibility with weekly shifts
• Team player comfortable working in a multicultural workforce 
• Ability to read and understand instructions and apply the information to your work 
• Clean, full drivers license
