HR Business Partner – New Zealand
We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to act as a trusted advisor to our site and senior leaders, supporting a safety-critical manufacturing environment in this newly created position.
This role is based in New Zealand and forms part of our broader Australian & New Zealand People & Culture team.
You will be the primary HR lead for NZ operating at a high level of autonomy and working closely with site leadership teams to improve workforce stability, engagement, and safety outcomes across multiple locations. Your advice will directly influence productivity, culture, and risk management on the ground.
About the Role
Working closely with the General Manager and reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will:
- Provide expert advice and hands on support regarding employment and industrial relations matters
- Support collective bargaining and union engagement in line with good-faith obligations
- Coach leaders on performance management, discipline, and workplace change
- Ensure compliance with New Zealand employment and health & safety legislation
- Partner with Health & Safety teams to reinforce safe and compliant work practices
- Use people data and insight to drive improved workforce outcomes
About You
You are an experienced HR professional who brings:
- Strong working knowledge of New Zealand employment law, including the Employment Relations Act and Holidays Act
- Proven experience in a unionised manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environment
- Confidence operating autonomously and influencing operational leaders
- A pragmatic, commercially minded approach to risk and decision-making
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage complex conversations
